How Fathers Can Connect with their Children

Research shows us that when fathers are involved in their children’s lives, their child is more likely to achieve success. They are more likely to develop healthier identities, have greater self-esteem, complete secondary school and have higher levels of sociability and self-control.

  • Rock to sleep

  • Talk to them

  • Sing to them

  • Set aside time to play

  • Read to them

  • Help develop their motor skills

  • Help with potty training

  • Establish a bed time routine

  • Set aside time to play

HAVE A YOUNG CHILD?

  • Teach kindness and honesty.

  • Eat meals together.

  • Help with Homework.

  • Maintain a bedtime routine.

HAVE YOU AN OLDER CHILD?

  • Meet their friends.

  • Ask about their dreams for the future and tell them yours

  • Listen to their favourite music with them.
